US Crane & Rigging Orders Seven Liebherr Cranes at ConExpo →
US Crane and Rigging LLC owner Thomas Auringer placed an order for seven Liebherr cranes at the Liebherr stand at the ConExpo. The order consists of two all-terrain cranes (LTM), two rough terrain cranes (LRT) and three tele crawlers (LTR). The cranes will be delivered throughout 2020. Cranes Inc. , a New York City-based crane rental company, took delivery of the first in the United States Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 mobile crane. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has opened Circuit Zandvoort near Amsterdam, the venue for this year's Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. Earlier this year, Mammoet was selected as an official event supplier for the race. The track, which was opened in 1939, has undergone an upgrade over the last six months in order to improve its safety, infrastructure and accessibility. Click for more...

On April 1, 2020, Daniel Pitzer will change position and move to the Liebherr headquarters for mobile and crawler cranes in Ehingen, Germany, becoming CFO of the mobile and crawler crane division. His successor in charge of the USA market of the mobile and crawler cranes division is Pierre Bilgeri. After Pitzer was appointed as the new CFO at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, his successor to take on sales responsibility for the company's most important export market, the USA, was found within Liebherr. SANY's SCA1000A and SCA2600A lattice boom crawler cranes will loom large over the legendary Las Vegas skyline as ConExpo 2020 rolls through town. Manitowoc will present two Grove all-terrain cranes at ConExpo 2020, one of which will be a "virtual launch" — a first for Manitowoc. The new 450 ton (400 t) capacity GMK6400-1 is the landmark crane launching virtually, while the 300 ton (250 t) capacity GMK5250XL-1, which launched at bauma 2019 last year, joins the company's on-stand line up. From Construction Equipment Guide... On Sept. 8, 2019, the Baltimore-bound Golden Ray cargo ship capsized near the Port of Brunswick while heading out to sea off the coast of Georgia. The 656-ft. car carrier was transporting 4,200 vehicles on its way the Middle East. An emergency call went out at around 2 a.m. eastern time. INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) A large construction crane collapsed the morning of Feb. 28 outside SoFi Stadium, the new home of the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers and Rams, according to the fire department. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were dispatched to the stadium in suburban Inglewood shortly before 8 a.m. Fire Department spokesman Franklin Lopez said a crane that was being moved struck a stationary crane, causing the stationary crane to collapse. In 2013, the ALL Family of Companies purchased the Liebherr 1750-9.1, a 900-ton, 9-axle, 18-wheel AT crane designed to fill the gap between Liebherr's 600-ton and 1,500-ton ATs. Grove RT540E Deployed at Australian Antarctic Station →
The Australian government has deployed a Grove RT540E rough-terrain crane to work at Davis station, one of the four research stations in the Australian Antarctic Program. The RT540E joins five other Grove rough-terrain cranes at the site and is used to load and unload cargo for resupply at the stations, as well as construct and maintain the station's infrastructure. An all-new 80-ton (75-t) Link-Belt TCC-800 telescopic crawler crane will debut at ConExpo 2020. The crane will begin field-testing early spring 2020, and first shipments scheduled in fourth quarter 2020. Its predecessor, the telecrawler TCC-750, has been a cornerstone of the telecrawler market since its initial debut in 2008. The TCC-800 comes with a new four-section 38 to 120 ft. The ALL Family of Companies has strengthened its rough-terrain crane fleet with the acquisition of four 165-ton (149 t) Grove GRT9165s. Introduced in 2018, the GRT9165 is now the highest-capacity, longest-reaching Grove rough-terrain crane. Its 205-ft. (62.6 m), six-section pinned boom is 5 ft.
