Blakeslee, Arpaia, Chapman Inc. (BAC Inc) of Branford, Conn., was hired as subcontractor to complete 300 ft. (91.4 m) of elevated boardwalk at Silver Sands State Park in Milford, Conn. In order to build a 10 ft. (3.04 m) high, elevated trestle BAC Inc. rented a 75-ton (70-t) Link-Belt TCC-750 telescopic crawler crane from Wood's CRW Corp. On behalf of Enercon, Belgian crane service provider Aertssen removed the 79 ton (72 t), 190 ft. (58 m) long rotor blades from an Enercon E-126 wind turbine at a height of approximately 446 ft. (136 m) for maintenance. Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Mass., recently purchased a 150-ton (136.08-t) 238 HSL lattice crawler crane from Wood's CRW Corp. The crane has gone to work on Interstate 95 near the West River Bridge in New Haven, Conn., as part of an ongoing project to widen Interstate 95 by over 40 ft. Thirty two private oceanfront homes in Puerto Rico will have a firm foundation due to a Liebherr HS 8100 duty cycle crawler crane. Densification Inc., a Virginia-based company, chose the crane to help prepare residential building lots as part of a multimillion dollar project within a five diamond resort. Crane service provider Vernazza Autogru only had 130 hours to dismantle an old railroad bridge, owned by French railway company SNCF, in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, west of Cannes. In order to tackle the job, in which time was of the essence, the company relied on its brand new Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane, which was in turn assisted by a Demag AC 120 all-terrain crane. Although the Demag AC 120 had been in use at Vernazza for quite a while already and was used to set up and disassemble the crawler crane and its Superlift system for the job, it was the first time ever that the team would be using its Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane.
