An all-new 80-ton (75-t) Link-Belt TCC-800 telescopic crawler crane will debut at ConExpo 2020. The crane will begin field-testing early spring 2020, and first shipments scheduled in fourth quarter 2020. Its predecessor, the telecrawler TCC-750, has been a cornerstone of the telecrawler market since its initial debut in 2008. The TCC-800 comes with a new four-section 38 to 120 ft. Manitowoc has unveiled its latest crawler crane: the Manitowoc MLC150-1. It is the latest in a line of crawler cranes that have been very successful in North America, especially for their competitive load charts and job site maneuverability. Superior Cranes Inc. , Rockingham, N.C., recently purchased the 1,375 ton (1,250 t) capacity class Demag CC 6800-1 crawler crane for its operations in the United States. With few crawler cranes in this class size operating in North America, the acquisition gives the company an advantage with lifting opportunities requiring specialized high-lift capacities. Blakeslee, Arpaia, Chapman Inc. (BAC Inc) of Branford, Conn., was hired as subcontractor to complete 300 ft. (91.4 m) of elevated boardwalk at Silver Sands State Park in Milford, Conn. In order to build a 10 ft. (3.04 m) high, elevated trestle BAC Inc. rented a 75-ton (70-t) Link-Belt TCC-750 telescopic crawler crane from Wood's CRW Corp. On behalf of Enercon, Belgian crane service provider Aertssen removed the 79 ton (72 t), 190 ft. (58 m) long rotor blades from an Enercon E-126 wind turbine at a height of approximately 446 ft. (136 m) for maintenance. Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Mass., recently purchased a 150-ton (136.08-t) 238 HSL lattice crawler crane from Wood's CRW Corp. The crane has gone to work on Interstate 95 near the West River Bridge in New Haven, Conn., as part of an ongoing project to widen Interstate 95 by over 40 ft. Densification Inc., a Virginia-based company, chose the crane to help prepare residential building lots as part of a multimillion dollar project within a five diamond resort. Crane service provider Vernazza Autogru only had 130 hours to dismantle an old railroad bridge, owned by French railway company SNCF, in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, west of Cannes. In order to tackle the job, in which time was of the essence, the company relied on its brand new Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane, which was in turn assisted by a Demag AC 120 all-terrain crane. Although the Demag AC 120 had been in use at Vernazza for quite a while already and was used to set up and disassemble the crawler crane and its Superlift system for the job, it was the first time ever that the team would be using its Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane.
