As part of New York State Canal Corporation's emergency repair program, construction is complete on Erie Canal Lock E-7 in Niskayuna, N.Y. Maintenance and repairs were finalized prior to May 15, 2021, when navigation season of the Erie Canal begins. D.A. Collins Companies (D.A. Link-Belt Cranes has announced production of a new 55-ton (45-t) TCC-550 will begin soon, with shipments set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2021. HEC Students Engage in MLC100-1 Assembly Safety Class →
Heavy Equipment Colleges of America (HEC) students in Stonecrest, Ga., took part in an assembly safety class on May 19 that used a new Manitowoc MLC100-1. Students spent the day watching the unit being assembled and tested at the school's field-testing site shortly after HEC took delivery of the new crane. Derr and Isbell Construction LLC of Euless, Texas, has a long company history of lifting structural steel and precast for projects across the country, and was awarded the contract for the 474,000 sq. ft. (44 036 sq. m) mixed-use development. The company rented a Link-Belt 140-ton (127-t) TCC-1400 telescopic crawler crane from HOLT Equipment of Irving, Texas, to place more than 250 precast panels on the bottom 10 stories of the new building. The high-tech heavyweight has an 880-ton capacity, 663 ft. of hoist height and a maximum radius of 498 ft. The ALL Family of Companies is adding nine new Link-Belt cranes to its fleet. The purchase comes on the heels of a previous 16-unit Link-Belt package announced earlier in the year. This latest purchase includes six telecrawlers — two each of the 80-ton TCC-800, 140-ton TCC-1400, and 250-ton TCC-2500 — and three truck cranes: 60-ton HTC-8660, 75-ton HTC-8675, and 110-ton HTC-86110.
