Kansas City, Kan.-based Wilkerson Crane Rental is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the purchase of another Manitowoc MLC300 lattice-boom crawler crane equipped with VPC-MAX. Although the company has more than 40 years of experience in hoisting, lift planning, heavy hauling and equipment servicing, Wilkerson Crane Rental only officially came into existence in 2013. Based in Birmingham, CraneWorks offers cranes ranging from 2 to 500-ton capacity for sale and rental, as well as rigging, machinery moving, specialty hauling and equipment storage services. MSG Krandienst's New Grove GMK6400-1 Aces its First Job →
A Grove GMK6400-1 is the latest fleet addition for crane rental company MSG Krandienst. It went to its first job — recovering a derailed train car — the day after arriving at its new home. Yannick Kempf is the MSG Krandienst operator on the new crane, and he was full of praise for it: "The controls are so intuitive on the GMK6400-1 that I was immediately able to operate it. It was great to be able to test the new addition on a job site the day after it arrived." The derailed train car weighed 75 tons and was broken into two 37.5 ton sections for extraction. Sims Crane & Equipment Co. has been serving the heavy equipment needs of contractors for more than six decades with crane leasing and sales across Florida. Sims has a large fleet of Tadano all-terrain cranes, and it is now the first company to own the new GT-800XL-2 truck crane (5-section 154.3 ft. power boom, 33.1 ft ./ 58.1 ft. biāfold jib, self-removable counterweight). A new kind of tower crane is making its debut for the ALL Family of Companies. The construction site is an unassuming student housing complex on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The new tower, the Potain IGO T 99 tower crane, isn't about height (the greatest hook height among the two T 99s on campus will be just 119 ft.), but it is about reach and transportability. Potain Cranes Chosen for Major New High-Speed Rail Link in UK →
The largest infrastructure project in Europe has called on Potain cranes to deliver essential lifting support to build the longest railway bridge in the UK. The cranes are all being supplied by UK construction and civil engineering company Sir Robert McAlpine, which is one of three infrastructure companies in the Align joint-venture building 13.4 mi. of the groundbreaking HS2 rail line. This project is a new eco-district to meet environmental challenges and promote energy autonomy, including 28,345 sq. yds. of offices, 200 housing units across 17,581 sq. yds. and 4,545 sq. yds. of commercial space.
