Italian heavy lift and transport company Palumbo Heavy Lift used two strong Grove all-terrain cranes to dismantle long masts on a sailing superyacht at a yard in Naples. The yard is one of seven owned by Palumbo Group. The Grove GMK5250XL-1 and GMK7450 teamed up to carefully remove 210 ft. and 170 ft. masts on a 213 ft. Turkish crane rental company ÖZ TUNCEL and its Grove GMK6300L-1 all-terrain crane were called in for a rescue operation at Istanbul Airport. A FedEx Express Boeing 767 cargo plane touched down at the airport without its front landing gear, bumping its nose on the runway and sending sparks flying in a dramatic incident that attracted worldwide attention. Dutch crane rental company Kraanverhuur Boekestijn is using its new Grove GMK6300L-1 to handle a months-long project replacing windows on a high-rise building in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam. Space on the downtown project was extremely limited but the all-terrain crane still had to be set up with 82 tons of counterweight, 262 ft. main boom, and 121 ft. and 95 ft. hydraulic swingaway jibs. Brooke's House, a rehabilitation center in Hagerstown, Md., dedicated to aiding women in recovery, has received $100,000 from Manitowoc and $50,000 from its dealers and customers.
