Four southern branches of the ALL Family of Companies banded together to accomplish a massive lift for construction of a new hangar at an international airport in northern Florida. Steel box beams formed large trusses, the heaviest of which weighed in at 610,000 lbs. This truss, which measured 20 ft. high and 400 ft. long, needed to be lifted and set as a single piece. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has released a new compliance directive, CPL 02-01-063 for cranes and derricks. This directive replaces the 2014 compliance directive CPL 02-01-057 and addresses the changes in the crane rule that OSHA made in 2018. The NCCCO Foundation board of directors has named Fred Simmons chair of the crane type advisory group (CTAG) following the retirement of Dave Ritchie. Simmons takes up his new position immediately, according to NCCCO Foundation President Garry Higdem, who made the announcement. "Dave leaves behind an outstanding legacy for which we are all enormously grateful," said Higdem. "And we are equally confident that Fred will continue that legacy for the betterment of industry and all those whose work brings them into contact with cranes and rigging." Taiwanese crane rental company Huixiang Crane Lifting has purchased its first Grove crane, adding a GMK5250XL-1 to its growing fleet. The powerful 5-axle all-terrain crane was unveiled at bauma 2019 in Germany and has been added to rental fleets across the world ever since. The new arrival becomes the largest machine in Huixiang Crane Lifting's rental fleet of six units.
