Link-Belt Cranes has announced production of a new 55-ton (45-t) TCC-550 will begin soon, with shipments set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2021. Link-Belt Launches New 65|HT →

Link-Belt Cranes has unveiled the new 65|HT, a 65-ton (55-t) capacity truck crane to replace its HTC-8660 Series II. The 65|HT comes with a new four-section 36.5 to 115 ft. (11.2 to 35 m) full-power boom that reaches a maximum tip height of 125 ft. (38.1 m). The 65|HT boasts an all-new formed boom riding Link-Belt's Teflon- impregnated wear pads, which means there's no need to grease the boom — reducing the time and cost of upkeep, according to the manufacturer.  Click for more...

HEC Students Engage in MLC100-1 Assembly Safety Class →

Heavy Equipment Colleges of America (HEC) students in Stonecrest, Ga., took part in an assembly safety class on May 19 that used a new Manitowoc MLC100-1. Students spent the day watching the unit being assembled and tested at the school's field-testing site shortly after HEC took delivery of the new crane. Sixteen HEC instructors and staff conducted the operation, which focused on safety measures to ensure the proper assembly of the 110 ton lattice-boom crawler crane.  Click for more...

Seven steel erection companies have been named as recipients in the annual project of the year awards by the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA). One winner was selected in each of four categories based on the dollar amount of the erection contract. In addition, three companies received honorable mention. Based in Antofagasta, Chile's mining capital, Inversiones Farías has deployed two new Grove GRT8100 rough-terrain cranes to projects that serve the region's vibrant extraction economy. The cranes have already helped assemble mining infrastructure, and soon will go on to complete jobs in mineral processing plants and large-scale construction and manufacturing projects. Bridge in Burgeoning Florida Community Expands With Help From All Crane Rental →

Poinciana, Fla., a suburban community near Kissimmee, is one the fastest-growing areas in the state's central region. In 2015, a new two-lane bridge was constructed over the Reedy Creek Swamp to provide another connection between Poinciana and nearby communities and highways. Construction is under way at The Stack, a 16-story project in Deep Ellum, a historic downtown Dallas neighborhood. Derr and Isbell Construction LLC of Euless, Texas, has a long company history of lifting structural steel and precast for projects across the country, and was awarded the contract for the 474,000 sq. ft. (44 036 sq. m) mixed-use development.
